ABOUT

MOTH COMPLEX is a US based, high energy, pop/rock band fronted by Irish singer and songwriter, Aoife O’Leary. Aoife (pronounced “EE’fa”), began Moth Complex in her hometown of Dublin, Ireland, collaborating with writing partner, Gerry Owens, and defining a sound that combines bruising rock with pop sensibilities and off-kilter electronics – all complimenting Aoife’s powerful and gentle voice

The past few years have been a whirlwind of hard work, hustle and accomplishment for Moth Complex. Aoife self-released the Moth Complex “Error 256” EP to widespread critical acclaim. The music video for “Tied Up In Knots” garnered even more attention, generating extensive international TV, radio and press exposure, and Moth Complex was featured as “Best Unsigned Band” in major genre-based European magazines, including “Metal Hammer” in the UK and “Gothic Magazine” in Germany. Additionally, all songs from the EP were featured in the US web series “Inspector Mom” and “Non-Fiction” made an appearance on SuicideGirls.com

Cut to 2012 and Moth Complex has gone International. Following successful European shows and tours, Aoife brought Moth Complex to the US, securing partnerships with Jagermeister Music, Amp Energy and Kramer Guitars amongst others.  Moth Complex’s US shows include an extensive tour across the States and turns at the infamous Viper Room and The Roxy on LA’s legendary Sunset Strip. To date, Moth Complex has shared the stage with powerhouse bands such as 30 Seconds to Mars and Lacuna Coil.

Moth Complex’s eponymous debut album dropped in January 2012, and the album has already garnered the attention and praise of the music press both domestically and abroad. “You Don’t Know”, the first song on the album, is available for full band gameplay on Rock Band Network and Moth Complex songs feature on Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) on Spike TV.

Moth Complex is represented by EMI Music Publishing.
